How we're funded
We are an independent, reader-supported publisher. Rather than charging you or filling the site with banner ads, we participate in affiliate and referral programs operated by hotels, hotel groups and travel booking partners and networks. When you click certain links on our site and go on to make a booking, the partner may pay us a commission for the referral.
We are not affiliated with the hotels we review
Earning a referral commission does not make us a hotel's partner, agent or representative. Crystal Grove Manor is an independent editorial publication. We are not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by the hotels, resorts or booking platforms we write about, and this is not the official website of any hotel. Hotel and brand names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only for identification and editorial purposes.
What this means for you
- You never pay more. Commissions are paid by the hotel or booking partner out of their own margin. Your rate is exactly the same as if you had gone direct.
- We don't handle your money. All payments are made to the hotel or booking partner, never to us.
- We don't show prices. We deliberately keep rates off our site so you always see live, accurate pricing at the source.
Our editorial promise
This is the part that matters most. A commercial relationship with a hotel never affects:
- Whether we review a property, or how favourably;
- The rating or ranking a hotel receives;
- What our writers are free to praise or criticise.
Our writers decide their verdict based on their stay and on genuine guest sentiment — before any commission is ever counted. If a hotel with an affiliate agreement disappoints, we say so plainly, as our reviews demonstrate. If a partnership ever conflicted with an honest assessment, the honest assessment would win.
How to spot affiliate links
Links that may earn us a commission include our "Reserve a room" buttons and certain outbound links to hotels and booking partners. Cookies used for attribution are described in our Cookie Policy, and you can manage them via Your Privacy Choices.
Regulatory note
This disclosure is provided in the spirit of Canada's Competition Act and the Competition Bureau's guidance on influencer and affiliate marketing, as well as comparable standards such as the U.S. FTC endorsement guidelines, which require clear disclosure of material connections.
